Mad Hatter Tea Company is based on the borders
of Yorkshire and County Durham the land of the Prince Bishops. History
purports that the Bishops held ecclesiastical and political
sovereignty over the palatinate of Durham, the area between the
rivers Tyne and Tees, also land in Northumberland and Yorkshire.
The Prince Bishops in all but name were kings. and had their own
armies, minted their own coins, levied taxes and even had their
own courts. Whatever the King could do outside the county
border, the Bishops could do within. |
