WELCOME
Once upon a time
A magical taste of Wonderland
was brought forth from the realm of fantasy into reality,
climbing up through an enchanted rabbit hole,
into the fabulous, picturesque village of Croft on the banks of the River Tees.
This whimsical expedition also visits the charming market town of
Richmond, North Yorkshire.
All inspired by Lewis Carroll,
author of the extraordinary tales of
“Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.”
Lewis Carroll moved to Croft-on-Tees in 1843,
attended his first school in Richmond in 1844,
and later matriculated at Oxford University in 1850 –
not in literature, as one might expect,
but paradoxically, in mathematics.
Everything we think we know is hardly ever what it seems...
